Reps for actress Lena Headey (“300“) say that the British star will play the principle antagonist, Ma-Ma in the upcoming movie Dredd. The matriarch of a drugs gang, who deals a reality-altering narcotic known as SLO-MO, and who presides despotically over an enormous apartment block called Peach Trees. This is an adaptation of the inspired future cop character “Judge Dredd“. Pete Travis (“Omagh“, “Vantage Point“) is directing while Karl Urban (“Doom“, “And Soon The Darkness“) will embody the anti-hero Dredd.

I for one think it’s a great casting move. With Headey having roles in previous actions movies before, this isn’t a stretch for her to play a chartacter of this magnitude and fans of the comic should be pleased.
