Details on Stag Night of The Dead

We’re all about bringing people closer together here at HorrorSociety. What brings people closer together than blood, boobs…and something else that begins with a B. Beasts? Anyway! I always keep an eye out for horror films from Europe because those are the ones who grab my attention more than other countries like Japan and Australia. Through the use of social media’s lamest invention, twitter, I stumbled across a new zombie comedy called Stag Night of the Dead. This zombie film comes from across the pond in the UK.

The plot sounds like a lot of fun. “Set in the grip of a global pandemic and on the eve of Dean’s wedding, a group of old school friends head off to a run down military base with a PVC clad stripper for the ultimate stag party experience. Forget paintball, at Zomball you get to shoot zombies with a dirty great stun gun. It’s a game that is literally more than life or death.

After breaking the golden rule of Zomball – “never humiliate a zombie” – it becomes a fight for survival as the truth about the new world order is revealed and suddenly the mother-in-law is the least of Dean’s problems…Stag Night of the Dead is a zom-com in the tradition of Shaun of the Dead with a little bit of American Pie thrown in for good measure and features zombies, sex, big guns, a giant, a dwarf and cinema’s first cycling zombie.”

Ok, this sounds kind of awesome in the independent horror comedy type of way. A cycling zombie? A dwarf? (because it’s rude to call them midgets, people) And who can’t turn down an ass kicking stripper with a gun?

The cast is full of professional actors, but none of them have big stars in America yet. This is better in my opinion. I’d rather see some real actors in a horror movie than Brittany Snow or Paris Hilton or whatever the trend is in Hollywood these days. The actors combined with the crew and director Neil Jones must have done a great job with Stag Night of The Dead because it’s gotten positive reviews from PissedOffGeek, BuyZombie, FlickFeast, BloodPopcorn, and BRWC.

Hopefully, HorrorSociety will give this a positive review when I check it out this weekend and write a review. You can check it out too! You can actually purchase it from their official site for $1.99 and it will stream to your computer for 3 days. Or you can buy it on DVD there too! Look for my review by the beginning of next week!
