Horror Sells: Your Weekly Horror Sales

Nothing new or interesting this week at the box office. The same three horror films are chugging along.

  • 11 8 The Roommate $2,382,000 (Total: $36,260,000)
  • 15 15 Black Swan $1,857,000 (Total: $104,106,000)
  • 21 16 The Rite $633,369 (Total: $32,464,000)

Here are this week’s Nielson Ratings, in millions, for the number of viewers tuning into scifi/horror television shows. Surprisingly, Face Off passes Ghost Hunters to become SyFy’s most popular show.

  • Vampire Diaries – 2,980,000
  • Supernatural – 2,180,000
  • Face Off – 1,490,000
  • Ghost Hunters – 1,481,000
  • Being Human – 1,411,000

Resident Evil: Afterlife falls off the Top 30 DVD chart after selling about $17,000,000. My Soul To Take falls off the chart after only one week, probably not even selling over $2,000,000 to date. Ouch! Then there’s Saw 3D, which actually moved up two spots this week.

  • 10 3 Paranormal Activity 2 $2,711,000 (Total: $9,910,000)
  • 21 23 Saw 3D: The Final Chapter $1,672,000 (Total: $7,667,000)
  • 30 14 Let Me In $743,000 (Total: $4,808,000)
