The Silent House is a brand new horror movie from Uruguay and the feature debut of writer-director Gustavo Hernández. Having screened as part of Director’s Fortnight at Cannes last year, it is out in UK cinemas today and offers a bloodier alternative to that film with Jesse Eisenberg as the parrot (I’m guessing. Not seen the parrot film. Might end with him being brutally hacked to death by a crazed killer screaming “That’s for those Orange cinema ads, beaky!” Would be surprised if it does, mind)…..
