Discover Why We Never Went Back – Apollo 18

I saw the preview for Apollo 18 while at the Thursday, midnight showing of Scream 4. At first I thought it was the preview for Transformers 3 because I know that film is about the moon. Anyway, I was really impressed with the idea and feel behind Apollo 18. Based on the preview, I think that it is going to scare audiences, but more importantly give them a genuine feeling of despair and claustrophobia. Here is the synopsis, which I’m taking from wikipedia: “In December 1973,A found footage-style film about a post-Apollo 17  mission to the Moon that takes on a premise of why NASA discontinued the Apollo moon missions. The plot involves a government coverup of the Apollo 18 mission after parasites on the Moon discovered the crew and began to kill them off one by one.”

Directed by Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego, the release date was just pushed back. It was supposed to come out April 22, 2011, now it’s coming out January 6, 2012. Dimension will be releasing this movie at that time, made on a budget of only $5,000,000. Check out the trailer on the official website for Apollo 18 here.
