Horror Sales: More to talk about than usual.

In a week where science fiction and fantasy films still rule the Box Office… Ok, I tried to be dramatic, but I don’t think it will work here. Anyway, the Box Office is down almost 11% this week from last week’s numbers. But, Hobo With A Shot Gun and Rubber both moved up the chart and the foreign thriller, Trollhunter, debuts at #68.

1 13 Super 8 $50,530,000 (Total: $51,530,000)

2 1 X-Men: First Class ($34,530,000 (Total: $108,424,000)

5 4 Pirates/Stranger Tides $16,172,000 (Total: $214,100,000)

9 6 Thor $3,736,000 (Total: $174,966,000)

22 21 Insidious $210,000 (Total: $53,309,000)

43 36 Scream 4 $56,000 (Total: $38,146,000)

56 60 Hobo With A Shotgun $18,000 (Total: $650,000)

68 Trollhunter $8,000

69 80 Rubber $7,000 (Total: $100,000)

The release of X-Men: First Class to theatres and True Blood: Season 3 on DVD has ignited a chain reaction that has bumped up both of their predecessors on the DVD Top 30 Chart. However, horror film The Rite and suspense thrillers like The Roommate and Black Swan remain on the chart.

1 True Blood: Season 3 $23,920,000

5 2 I Am Number Four $2,438,000 (Total: $9,943,000)

30 – X-Men $107,000 (Total: N/A)

I included a lot of extra numbers this week for the Hell of it. My Babysitter’s A Vampire was a one shot, Disney channel film and the Nine Lives of Chloe King is a kids show, but since they both contain supernatural elements, I posted the numbers. Another bonus number this week is Finding Bigfoot, which oddly airs on Animal Planet.

My Babysitter’s A Vampire (Disney) – 4,180,000

Nine Lives of Chloe King (ABC Family) – 2,171,000

The Killing (AMC) – 1,828,000

Teen Wolf (MTV) – 1,819,000

Finding Bigfoot (Animal Planet) – 1,273,000

Sanctuary (SyFy) – 1,201,000

Haunted Collector (SyFy) – 1,126,000
