Light Productions Presents, ‘Transit’

One of the writers and executive producers of the upcoming horror film, Transit, sent me over the press release. Michael Mitchell is also the owner of Light Productions, the company that will be producing the film. Although production is not expected to begin until the second quarter of 2012 (April – June), there is still a lot of information that I can provide everyone who reads this. Let’s start with the plot of Transit, shall we? From the press release:

When someone recalls the final months of college, the culmination of their college career is often a blur of cramming for tests, dating, drinking, and cramming for more tests. Now, add battling zombies to that list. A secret hidden for centuries releases a deadly zombie assault on an unsuspecting group of friends. The group must overcome the ravenous evil as they seek: answers, freedom, and safety. The film explores otherworldly forces and the resilience of the human will and the innate ability to overcome insurmountable odds. Coupled with the revitalizing themes revolving around the power of love, it presents a clever film packed with action and draws the audience in on a journey, enabling them to experience the production. Plus, there will be lots of blood, action, and beautiful women.”

The cast will be lead by Ashton Leigh (Swamp Shark) and Christoper Waun. Additional casting will be concluded at the end of the year. The crew behind the film will include Josh Hodgins (writer, director, executive producer), Michael Mitchell (writer, executive producer) [pictured to the right], Cliff Goldsmith (writer, producer), Evan Marquise (writer, producer), and Shaun Grant and Mohinder Singh as associate producers. Light Productions will be producing the film in association with A Thunderhead Pictures and JH Productions.

Transit will be filmed on the RED Epic with places such as New Orleans, Los Angeles, Washington State, and Mississippi being considered for locations. Again, production probably won’t begin until mid 2012, but you can still check out their Facebook [here] and HorrorSociety for all of the future updates with this film.
