Two Scream Queens Being Friendly

…and I mean this both figuratively and physically!

Recently, two well-known scream queens traveled to a set deep in the woods somewhere in America to film an upcoming horror film. The two scream queens are Monique Dupree and Jessica Cameron. Monique Dupree is most known for her films Pot Zombies, Bachelor Party In The Bungalow of The Damned, and Bikini Bloodbath Christmas. She has over 40 acting credits and her popularity has caused her to branch out into other venues. Monique has made guest spots on popular television shows like Law & Order and Royal Pains, as well as in films such as Step Up 3D and The Replacements. Jessica Cameron burst onto the horror scene in 2009 and has been booking roles consistently. She was even won a Golden Cob Award last year for “Rising B-Movie Actress.” Look for her in the upcoming films Camel Spiders, Potpourri, Mother’s Blood, and Post Mortem: America 2021 (a film in which she will costar with Miss Dupree again.)

So, I’m sure you’re dying to see what I’m talking about, right? Well, here you go! And there they are!  The dude taking the picture is Reno Ministrelli, an actor and model most known for his spot in season two of the hit Discovery Channel reality show, The Colony. So, I’d wager a guess that this is probably a still from their upcoming film and sadly, not a budding partnership in real life.

But, while this is probably every indie horror fan’s dream come true (and will also make sales for this film skyrocket when it comes out), it’s important to note that the pair of incredible actresses are actually friends in real life. I’d wager a guess again that they’ve become close friends after sharing the screen together and being A-List stars in our favorite subgenre of film. I spoke with them both recently and we had a nice chat, making small talk and complimenting each other. Both actresses had nice things to say to me, so I’ll pat myself on the back for that one. Here’s a bit of what they had to say about their friendship and working in the horror industry.

Monique [in regards to me, the industry, and Jessica] – “I really appreciate that Michael. I truly do. I don’t think a lot of people get that. We do bust our asses. I have a real passion for what I do and I work every day to perfect my craft. After seeing Jessica first hand, I want to work with her more. I felt like she helped to bring out the best in me. That’s the type of people I like to surround myself with.”

Jessica [in regards to acting and Monique] – “It is amazing when you get to work with people that you “know” through the business and yet they still amaze you when you meet them in person. As soon as the camera starts rolling Monique is very clearly no longer Monique – she is her character who has an agenda and is going after it 110%! And I felt the same way – when you are opposite someone who is very clearly on top of her A Game – you have to rise to the occasion as an actress. I noticed it helped the other actresses in set too.”

I think that it’s awesome to see two beautiful women getting along so well (and kissing…). In “girl world” and even in the acting world, there is a lot of catty-ness and backstabbing that goes on. So, it’s refreshing to see two women being real and forming a bond, which will ultimately please fans when they get to view the chemistry that Monique and Jessica have on film.

Girls, thank you for chatting with me a bit today and giving me permission to do this article. Thanks also goes to Erica Soto, an up-and-coming scream queen too, for whom I borrowed these pictures from. And thanks to Reno for blocking this last shot [insert friendly sarcasm]. Follow everyone on twitter: Monique here, Jessica here, Reno here, Erica here, and HorrorSociety here.

I can’t wait to see what else Monique and Jessica have to show us next with their careers, but more importantly I can’t wait to see this scene in their upcoming film!
