Box office numbers, DVD sales, and television viewership for April 13th to April 19th 2012.
The Cabin In The Woods takes the #3 spot at the Box Office, just edged out of the #2 spot by less than $1,000,000. It is actually one of the highest debuts for a horror film this year (if not the first or second). No change with any other film worth mentioning, although Keyhole did go up slightly in sales.
3 The Cabin In The Woods $19,230,000
28 34 Chronicle $193,000 (Total: $64,205,000)
42 37 The Woman In Back $91,000 (Total: $54,232,000)
43 35 Silent House $87,000 (Total: $12,683,000)
78 90 Keyhole $6,000 (Total: $12,000)
The DVD Top 30 Chart… Eehhh… At least Harry Potter re-emerged somehow to make sure Twilight didn’t stay the only scifi film on the chart… Thank god…
22 14 Twilight/Dawn 1 $695,000 (Total: $89,664,000)
29 N/A Harry Potter/Hallows 2 $257,000 (Total: $87,837,000)
As far as television viewership goes, I would say Grimm, Once Upon A Time, The Vampire Diaries, and Eureka are the only ones doing well. Every other show just seems to be chugging along. Still wish Monster Man was doing better, but I think that’s a wrap for this season.
