Metro, 3730 N. Clark Street, Chicago, IL

The Scooty & JoJo Show returns to Metro on June 1, 2012, with the epic benefit concert Space Invasion. Expanding the very best of last year’s Alien-meets-Queen-meets-Battlestar Fantastica spectacles with Chicago’s newest rock choir and an inter-species dance party, Space Invasion is a full-tilt celebration of sci-fi cinema and space rock.

After five record-setting appearances at Metro last year, the incredible band and performers assembled for Scooty & JoJo’s Alien-inspired tribute to Queen are back to headline this awesome event. Exploding the huge harmonies of the iconic anthem rock is the debut of Chicago’s new 35-member choir under the direction of Jonny Stax and Nicholas Davio and The Scooty & JoJo Show’s Jonny Stax. Acclaimed performer Ryan Lanning returns to channel Sigourney Weaver’s steely glare and Freddie Mercury’s soaring vocals while Scooty’s massive alien queen drops her abundance of eggs over the rapturous crowd.

As part of the Space Invasion assault team, The Scooty & JoJo Show features Battlestar Fantastica, sci-fi burlesque entertainment curated by Chicago’s acclaimed choreographer and performance artist Jyl Fehrenkamp. The performer lineup for June 1st includes her co-host for the evening Trandoid (Shits & Giggles), Lady Jack, Ventrilla Kiss and the Voyagers, Acrobats from Space!, Lee Na Moo, MotherGirl, Homo Autotrophus, and Darling Shear.

Kicking off the night is JoJo’s Cantina Lounge at 9pm with DJ Tess of Slo ‘Mo spinning sexy slow jams, rare grooves and spacey funk, with environmental performance acts. The concert begins at 10pm with revolving sets of Battlestar Fantastica and Alien-meets-Queen madness. The live concert transforms into a DJ-hosted dance party at midnight. Fans are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite extra-terrestrials and represent their species, transforming Metro into an impromptu intergalactic United Nations.

Proceeds from the event go toward The Scooty & JoJo GoGo Legit Campaign, securing legal council and licensing rights to grow Scooty & JoJo creations.
