Horror Sales: The Apparition, Jaws, and True Blood

Box Office Numbers, DVD Sales, and Television Viewership for the week of August 24 to August 30, 2012.

Box Office Numbers: The horror-comedy, children’s flick ParaNorman remains at the #3 spot for a second week in a row. The Apparition may be a flop already, coming in at #12 with only 1/6 of its budget. Unfortunately, From Beneath disappears from theaters after only two weeks.

DVD Top 30 Chart: Dexter debuts at #3 with more than $7 mil made. Interestingly enough, due to the Blu-ray release of Jaws, the DVD version returns to the chart after probably many years. Silent House falls off the chart, but I was still able to collect sales.

Television Viewership: True Blood sets a season high with its season finale. Grimm still holding steady with viewers in its third week. Face Off is underperforming compared to last season, so make sure you check it out this Tuesday. Also, Haunted High is one of the least viewed SyFy films of 2012.
