If it’s one thing I’ve learned about Hollywood, it’s that there is no sure thing until the cameras start rolling, no matter what is said ahead of time, and that even doesn’t mean that we’ll see a finished product. With that being said, Sam Raimi himself said he wants to make Evil Dead 4…hmmm.
While in London on a press tour for his latest film, Oz the Great and Powerful, Raimi was asked if there ever will be an Evil Dead 4, this is what he had to say:
“I would love to make Evil Dead 4. My brother and I plan to work on the script this summer.”
There you have it folks, take it with a grain of salt or take it as gospel, you decide. A lot of things can happen between now and then, let’s just say I’m cautiously optimistic about it. By the way, the brother he’s referring to is Ivan Raimi, one of Sam’s writing partners since Darkman (1990).
With the remake of Evil Dead by Fede Alvarez coming just around the corner in April, if that film is successful then it would give greater weight to Raimi being able to proceed with a fourth Evil Dead film, only time will tell – cautiously optimistic.
