The Ghost is a Lie

Synopsis: Hoping to cash in on the final stages of the found-footage phenomenon, a shady LA producer hires a small crew of cult-icon, has-been filmmakers to ‘whip up’ a supernatural, first-person perspective ghost story on a pitifully low budget.

Along with a handful of amateur actors, the group heads into the woods and set about rigging up ‘scares’ and planning ‘the story’ with varying degrees of enthusiasm. Soon, things go very, very wrong and the group realizes they are being hunted by a vicious killer with an eye for art-house cinema.

Starring: Christina Aceto, Christina Schimmel, Lindsay Smith, Chris Carnel, Jake Raymond, Colin Price, Rich Piatkowski, Gene Abella, Rachel Sellan, and Alex Smith.

From the director: Last spring we took a break from shooting traditional films and did everything different for one film: Tinkered with ‘Found Footage,’ worked with almost all new (to us) actors, went semi-scripted, and crowd-funded. The result was a four-day romp in small-town Ontario and a bloody good time! – Jason
