2006 – Comedian Jan Murray, who appeared in the film “Fear City” and “The Vampire” episode of “Kolchak: The Night Stalker,” passed away at the age of 89.

1999 – “Godfather” novelist Mario Puzo, who wrote the screenplays for “Superman” and “Superman II,” passed away at the age of 78.

1997 – Acting icon James Stewart passed away at the age of 89. He starred in the Alfred Hitchcock classic “Rear Window.”

1993 – Fred Gwynne who played “Herman Munster” and co-starred in the films “Fatal Attraction” and “Pet Sematary,” passed away at the age of 66.

1973 – George Macready who appeared in the films “The Return of Count Yorga,” “The Human Duplicators” and the TV movie “Night Gallery,” passed away at the age of 64.
