Fear Fete, the Gulf Coasts premier horror film festival, returns to Biloxi, MS this October 16-19, 2014.  This year’s event will be held at the MS Coast Convention Center and introduce the Gulf Coast to its first horror convention.

Fear Fete Executive Director, Derek Morris said, “We are excited to be adding our first horror con with the film festival, which is something never before done on the Gulf Coast. The horror con will offer even more entertainment to our attendees with panels, classes, unique vendors, and the opportunity to meet celebrity guests, such as Tony Todd (Candyman, Night of the Living Dead, Star Trek, The Rock), Lloyd Kaufman (The Toxic Avenger, Class of Nuk’em High) and cast from Steven Kings Pet Sematary to celebrate its 25th Anniversary.”

“The horror con also allows us to reach a new demographic of attendees who share our love for Science Fiction, Cosplay, and Anime. These pop-culture genres go hand-in-hand with horror and we welcome it with open arms to Fear Fete,” Morris added.

Returning for its fourth year is Fear Fete’s original attraction, the horror film festival. Since its inception in 2011, Fear Fete has showcased over 65 independent horror films from over 27 countries around the world. Each year the festival allows filmmakers to premiere their films to an impressive and enthusiastic crowd. The festival has even been credited by several publications as being one of the top horror film festivals in the country, including Movie Maker Magazine naming Fear Fete #3 on its list of the Top 13 Horror Festivals to Die For.

In 2013, Fear Fete was excited to announce that several films received distribution deals through partnering distributors, as well as having one film nominated for an Academy Award in independent film.

The festival kicks-off Thursday October 16th with the Dead Carpet Gala, an annual event in which celebrity guests, filmmakers, and actors get to walk the Dead Carpet amongst an exciting crowd of media, guests, and attendees. Afterwards, VIP Pass holders will be invited in for the Gala reception with food and drinks, and the opportunity to mingle with celebrities.

The Film Festival and Horror Convention runs Friday, October 17th thru Sunday, October 19th at the MS Coast Convention Center. Attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite horror or fantasy characters. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch all scheduled horror films, shop unique vendors, attend entertaining panels, and to meet celebrity guests for photos and autographs. Fear Fete is also planning the return of one of its most popular events from last year, the Zombie Pub Crawl, which drew hundreds of zombies for one killer night of bar-hopping and partying.

Early Bird VIP Experience and 3-Day Passes are currently available at www.fearfete.com/tickets.html. Early Bird rates give attendees the opportunity to purchase passes at the lowest prices of the year. Regular rates and Single-Day passes for the festival will be available starting August 1, 2014.
