This movie is like The Patty Duke show on acid, even though these two are sisters and not cousins. This is the first film starring Fiona Horsey that wasn’t so great. It wasn’t so bad but it wasn’t great. Jennifer is the happy go lucky girl with a great boyfriend who loves her and wants to get married. She seems to keep putting it off until she realizes she is pregnant.
Suddenly murders start to take place and the description of the killer is identical to Jennifer. At first you wonder why she is doing it. Is she doing these things to these men for a reason? Is she blacking out and her inner demons let loose and she abuses men? Not really, it ends up Jennifer has a twin named Nora who is playing payback for the shitty life she has had, She is jealous that her life was so awful growing up.
When Jennifer meets her parents for lunch they finally tell her that she has an identical twin, and it could be possible that she is the one who is killing men with a hatred that she has become accustomed to over time. Everything was obvious, and there wasn’t really anything surprising in here to get you strapped in for a exciting ride. Twisted Sisters didn’t have much going for it.
If your up for a mediocre watch, or are crushing on Fiona pick Twisted Sisters up and give it a go. If not I suggest you break out the MTI entertainment book and pick up a different title, they have plenty other great movies to choose from. I would have to tell you that I just watched one called Maniacts and it was great- talk about partners in crime! So read this review and make your own calculations of if this flick and decide if it is worth it to you.
