The Asylum Xperiment was voted the #1 haunted house in the state of Illinois for 2012. Haunted Illinois, the top Halloween haunt review site in the state hailed the attraction as “ambitious”, “impressive” and “epic”. AX was voted as the #1 favorite by visitors and ranked #1 by the H.I. review team who stated in their official 2012 review “…as I walked out at the end of my adventure, I just couldn’t get over the fact that it was like nothing I have ever seen this side of Disney World”.
The Asylum’s rise to the top is attributed to their continual evolution. Each year they add new scenes, scares, attractions, and unique special effects, all based upon valuable feedback from visitors. And this year AX guests will take an active part in the horror!
For the first time, visitors waiting in line actually run part of the show. While patrons wind their way through the Graves of Winter, a spectacular graveyard vignette complete with photo opportunities, entertainment, and interactive kiosks, they will have control over internal scares via video feeds from the inner sanctum. AX guests will observe other patrons already inside and actively hit the scare button to alarm them at will.
Now the adventure begins as you enter the first haunt, The House: Home for the Horrordays, which exposes its true colors as a withered, frozen structure, entombed with holiday nightmares. Several new vignettes in 2013 include The Cellar of Torture, the Holiday Horror Library, Mrs. Cleaver’s Kitchen, the Greenhouse of Chaos, and a backyard lifelike winterscape complete with falling snow.
Also new in 2013 is the second haunt, Subterranean, a horrific underworld attraction this year which leads thrill seekers into the bowels beneath the house. It is an environment filled with dark, dripping horror, complete with water, rats, the foulest of smells, and unimaginable creatures that reside deep within. The only way out is through a secret portal that leads to something even worse – the end of civilization!
The third and final haunt, Armageddon, puts you face-to-face with freakish clown gangs and hoards of steam punk bikers who have taken over this legendary post-apocalyptic display. Be a witness (and potential victim) to this insane turf war.

Parking & Facility Services
Ample FREE parking is available at The Odeum Expo Center. Heated indoor waiting area, indoor restrooms, and an ATM machine is available on site (tickets purchased at the door are cash only). Food & Beverage concessions including full cocktail bar are available in the Lunatic Lounge before and after the show. All haunts are handicapped accessible.
