Donna Wilkes was born in California in 1959. At the age of 23 she jumped into the world of acting and immediately booked the role of Pamela Prentiss in “Days of Our Lives” from 1982-1983. This was the beginning of a long career in television, which continued forward in the form of guest spots on “The Incredible Hulk” in 1978, “Different Strokes” and “The Runaways” in 1979, Emmy Nominated western “Father Murphy” and “T.J. Booker” in 1982, “Hell Town” in 1985, “Superior Court” in 1986, and “FBI: The Untold Stories” in 1991. She also held a recurring role on “Hello, Larry” in 1979.
Despite appearing in a number of short and feature films, cinematic viewers will most remember Donna Wilkes for her roles in horror flicks. Her first appearance, one of the first of her career, was in Jaws 2 (1978). She played Jackie Peters – one of the only survivors of the climatic final, fishy bloodbath. Then, she played Alison Fales in Schizoid (1980); followed by Blood Song (1982) and Grotesque (1988). Jaws 2 was a supporting role, but the other three were leads. This cemented her as a benefited horror actress.
So, where is Donna Wilkes now?
Well, she actually retired from acting in 1991. She stayed out of the limelight for 22 years before returning to the spotlight in the family horror-comedy My Stepbrother is a Vampire (2013). It was a small part, but a great welcome back! Even better, she was the lead role in 90210 Shark Attack (2014), which brings her career in the horror industry full circle! I’m looking forward to seeing what she has in store for us next.
