While doing some searching online for one of my upcoming articles, I stumbled across information on a new horror film that appears to be in limbo. Dweller went into production sometime in early 2014. The movie was completed, several stills were released as was a captivating trailer, but as of January 2015 this title is currently listed with an unknown release date. It appears that, at least for now, Dweller has been shelved. I know that there was a major overhaul of cast and crew just before filming began, so maybe Pacific Shore Films need to revamp their plan before moving towards release.
Maybe, hopefully a little bit of surprise promotion will help their distributor realize that Dweller should be released?!
Currently, IMDb has Dweller‘s short synopsis listed as, “Claire Kingsley’s nightmares and visions lead her back to her hometown in Green Oaks, only to find that the town’s infamous resident serial killers, believed to be dead and gone, have re-emerged and are now preying on her and her friends.” I’m not sure how accurate this is because the film’s awesome trailer takes place in a cabin in the woods and appears to showcase only one killer wielding an ax/bear trap looking staff. Also, a character in the trailer mentions the “Gein Family,” which makes me think back to a certain family in horror history.
As per the one-sheet released in July 2014, Dwellers is the directorial debut of Spence Nicholson. He also penned the script along with Michael Tovo and Justin Olson. Cast members look to include Mika Boorem (“Dawson’s Creek,” The Ward), Peter Stormare (Fargo, Armageddon), Christina Milian (“Family Guy,” Pulse), Ethan Embry (“Once Upon A Time”), Trevor O’Brien (They Call Him Sasquatch), Aric Damm, Hannah Hall, Patrick Muldoon, and Anthony Thorne.
I’m sure that I have some false information in this post due to the massive confusion regarding Dweller and its current status and cast and crew. I encourage anyone attached to this project to get in touch with me so I can confirm or fix information provided here. And to the horror fans reading, please spread the word about this film by liking it on Facebook. Let’s see if we can someone pull this one off the discontinued shelf!
