An actress, dancer, model, singer, writer and reality show participant… She goes by many names… Melissa Brasselle, Rocky Brasselle, Raquel DeMarco and how I know her, Rocky DeMarco. Her first brush with fame came when she appeared in the February 1989 edition of Playboy Magazine. Fast forward a few years later and she would become one of the most notorious actresses in b-horror and action movies, predominantly through her work with cult director Jim Wynorski.
Her many appearances in horror films in the 90s include Possessed by the Night (1994), Cyborg 3: The Recycler (1994), Sorceress (1995), Body Chemistry 4: Full Exposure (1995) and the lead as Mary in The Wasp Woman (1995). Her many appearances in action films in the 90s include The Assault (1996), Demolition High (1996), Storm Trooper (1998) and Desert Thunder (1999).
So, where is Rocky DeMarco now?
Her career continued to change going into the 2000s and 2010s. While she continued to act in low budget movies, she also started to transition into a reality star. Her appearances in horror titles include the leas as Barbara Phillips in Raptor (2001), Cheerleader Massacre (2003), the lead as Tiffany in The Curse of the Komodo (2004), Vampires in Vegas (2009) and the SyFy original movie Camel Spiders (2011). Her only known action appearances include Rangers (2000) and Ablaze (2001).
Since 2005, Rocky has been a participant on three reality television shows, the first being a game-show called “Impossible Heists.” She then transitioned to VH1 and was heavily featured in “I Know My Kid’s A Star” in 2008 with daughter Hayley Sanchez before becoming a cast member on two seasons of “Tough Love” from 2009 to 2010.
With her last reality show ending in 2010 and her last on screen credit being in 2011, DeMarco has remained silent and unheard of for the most part. She has a meet and greet scheduled for next weekend at Chiller Theatre in New Jersey, so let’s hope this is a start of her return to the horror genre. I know there will be people waiting for it.
