It has come to my attention that Kentucky native Carole Emery passed away Wednesday morning, February 10th. Her passing is noted to have been a peaceful one at her home on Copper Canyon Ranch in Hopkinsville. She was 63.

Emery had worked on a number of independent horror films in recent years, being ever present behind the scenes in a number of jobs including acting cameos, craft services, location manager and producer. She lent her time and talent to titles such as Gun Town (2009), Revelation Trail (2013), The Truck (2013), The Lashman (2014) and Tailypo (2015).

Carole was most helpful to filmmakers on a tight budget by letting them film on Copper Canyon Ranch, property she owned with her husband of 30 years, Tim, which they converted and replicated into an 1880’s era Western town. Copper Canyon Ranch continues to serve as a tourist attraction that brings the Wild West back to the forefront with gun shows, haunted hay rides and stunt shows. The ranch was even the set of Florida Georgia Line’s “Dirt” lyric video which went 2x platinum and hit #1 on the country charts.

While it is a sad time, the ranch has certainly gained another legend that will be talked about for many years to come. Rest in peace, Carole.
