Jest – It Waits A Little Longer
Short Film Enters Post-Production After Marathon Shoot
6/20/16, New Jersey – Jest: The Short Film, a prequel to the 2011 Brighten Publishing novel by David Warren, has officially concluded principal photography and has entered the post-production editing process following a marathon shoot on June 14, 2016. The cast and crew stormed real life citadel Kip’s Castle in Montclair, New Jersey on what would become a short film adventure showcasing a small tour group visiting the majestic castle and witnessing its elegance, refinement and horror first hand.
Jest‘s screenplay was translated from book to script by David Warren with the help of Potent Media’s Christian Jude Grillo, who also served as director and cinematographer on this film shoot. Producer Michael DeFellipo had this to say about his involvement, “When looking to hire a director who is fast and professional without sacrificing quality, I didn’t have to think for very long before I contacted Christian. He’s one of the best filmmakers in the Tri-State area and he completely blew away all of my expectations. More-so, I’m eternally grateful to have been allowed to assistant direct alongside him. It was such an amazing experience and I learned more from him in one day than most people get from a whole college degree.”
Jest stars Carmela Hayslett (Deer Crossing, “Roxsy Tyler’s Carnival of Horrors”), Adam King, Brooke Guido, Randy Memoli and David Warren. It also features Sharon Smyth (“Dark Shadows,” “Search for Tomorrow”), Thomas Kershner, Sherri Kershner and Rick Basmajian. Crew members John Martineau and David Gechman were pivotal to this production as were Suzanne Warren and costume designer GEEKpaw Productions.
