CHICAGO! Open call for Auditions for a New Horror Improv Show

Chicago’s Gorilla Tango Theater is looking for some improv talent with a love for horror

Chicago’s Gorilla Tango Originals announces general auditions for upcoming production of Assault on The Grindhouse: An Interactive, Improv Horror Movie Experience.

Assault on the Grindhouse is both an improv show and an ode to classic B-horror movies. We are looking for performers who are quick on their feet, can improvise with a film, have a love for horror, and are interested in being part of the process of creating a brand new show. Actors of all ethnicities ages 20+ with a minimum one year improv experience. Preferably a graduate of a Chicago Improv Comedy training program (Second City, iO, Annoyance, ETC).

ALL ROLES OPEN. These are PAID positions.

Audition Date: Sunday, March 19th from 5-8PM

Callbacks: Tuesday, March 21st from 8-11PM

Location: Gorilla Tango Theatre, 1919 N. Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647

Once you’ve received a confirmation of your audition via email, please prepare a 1 minute character monologue and prepare to improvise at your audition. Please bring a headshot/resume to the audition. Walk-ins will be seen if time permits.

In attendance at auditions will be director Matt Storc and improv coach David Schwartzbaum.

Rehearsals will begin the week of March 27th, 1-2 rehearsals a week, including Tuesday nights.

Performances will be at Gorilla Tango Tuesday nights May 2nd to June 20th at 8pm with a special performance featuring Refeer Madness on April 20 at 8pm.

(Chicago Events Coordinator) Matt Storc is a screenwriter and director from the great city of Chicago. He enjoys sharing movies with people almost as much as he enjoys making them. He also does a killer rendition of the other guy's part in Shaggy's "It Wasn't Me" at karaoke."
