Reality Stars Headline Horror Competition Series ‘Scared Famous.’

This concept’s been done before in the past a la “Kill Reality” (2005) and “Scream Queens” (2008-2010), but I’m still super excited to see two of my favorite medias cross paths again – horror and reality television. Though, this time around contestants won’t be participating in a made-for-television movie on E! or battling for a breakout role in the next Saw movie. In VH1’s upcoming competitive series, “Scared Famous,” ten of the network’s biggest reality stars will move into a haunted estate in Savannah, Georgia to compete in challenges that pay respect to the most memorable and classic scary movies in cinematic history. Only one of them will leave the house alive, and that winner will receive a check for $100,000 to donate to their favorite charity.

“Scared Famous” will be hosted by rapper Redman. As a performer, Redman’s sold over 5,000,000 albums in America alone and notched eight top 10 singles on Billboard’s Rap chart. He’s also co-starred in Dark, Scary Movie 3 and Seed of Chucky. The contestants moving into the house to compete in this horror challenge include:

  • Alaska Thunderfuck (RuPaul’s Drag Race)
  • Tiffany Pollard (Flavor of Love)
  • Drita D’Avanzo (Mob Wives)
  • Don Benjamin (America’s Next Top Model)
  • Eva Marcille (America’s Next Top Model)
  • Yung Joc (Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta)
  • Miss Nikki Baby (Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood)
  • Erica Mena (Love & Hip Hop: New York)
  • Safaree (Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood)
  • Sky (Black Ink Crew: New York)

VH1 warns that alliances will be formed, bonds will be broken, and strategy is necessary to stay in the competition. It’ll be interesting to see if these out of control personalities can work a little “Big Brother” and “Survival” into their game-play.

“Scared Famous” premieres on VH1 on October 23, 2017 at 9PM.

Will you be tuning in?
