R.I.P. LeglessCorpse Films’ Chad Armstrong.

I’m speechless. Word is spreading this morning that writer, film-maker, and indie distributor Chad Armstrong has passed away following a battle with Stage 4 Liver Cancer. Armstrong started sharing his fight with fans, followers and family members on December 2, 2017 via social media, and it’s through that same source that I’m finding out that he passed away last night, December 18, 2017. Rest easy, good sir!

Chad Armstrong enjoyed over two decades working in the film industry. He started out as a special effects artist on Blazeland (1992) and as a production assistant on Safe House (1998) with Patrick Stewart before graduating to his own projects. Armstrong wrote, directed and edited a series of short films including drama’s In the Eyes of an Angel (2001), comedy’s The Noir Guy (2006) and horror’s Morality (2015). He also produced web-series “6/6/66.”

His most recent project, a feature length horror film titled Deimosimine, was released in August.

Chad’s second biggest claim to fame stems from being a tremendous supporter of independent horror directors. Along with Andrew Thompson, he founded LeglessCoprse Films, a distributor that put out several hits including Ballet of Blood, Don’t Look in the Basement 2, Reel Nightmare, Dolly Deadly and Volumes of Blood. He also was a creative mind at Eli Roth’s CryptTV and worked with Horror Inside the Box.

Lots of respect and love goes out to Chad Armstrong today. And all of us at HorrorSociety.com send our condolences to his family, friends and fans.
