The Strangers: Prey at Night was one of the most talked about horror movies of 2018. While it may not have held up to the hype of the original film, it was still a wild good ride; one that’s partially responsible for the revitalized slasher genre gripping the cinematic universe once again.
As with some movies, a variety of different takes, shots, and endings are filmed, just in case the product needs a touch up after seeing test audiences. The Strangers: Prey at Night was no different, and actor and model William Willet has shared a behind-the-scenes photo from one of the alternate endings that didn’t make it on the Blu-ray/DVD disc.
Rumor as it, the scene in particular that this shot is from features William Willet as a doctor who appears after knocking on Kinsey’s (Bailee Madison) hospital room door. The version that was used in the final cut leaves the ending open to interpretation; with the viewer wondering if one of The Strangers is outside her room, or if it’s fear and PTSD taunting her. In the alternate ending I’m discussing, it’s rumored that the Man in the Mask (Damian Maffei) kills the doctor with an ax to the back.
