Chaney Morrow Joins the Cast of the Found Footage Horror Film MOTHMAN

Filmmaker Joshua Brucker is pleased to announce Chaney Morrow (Haunt, Wrong Turn) has joined the cast for his upcoming found footage horror film, Mothman.

Mothman follows Amanda Mason and her boyfriend Tim as they film a documentary on the case surrounding her missing brother, Dakota. Through a series of interviews, they uncover that Dakota was disturbed and troubled by an event months before his disappearance. After some time, Amanda is able to uncover a lost SD card and cellphone, containing her brother’s story and what ultimately happened to him. This puts her on course to meet the one thing her brother feared most: The burning red eyes of Mothman.

Chaney Morrow is set to star as Indrid Cold, a mysterious figure often tied to the Mothman legend. Also attached to the cast is Liz Fletcher, Christopher Kuriata, Randy Cole, and Tiffany Saggio.

“As a child, I remember the emotions I felt watching the classic horror films. As a director, I want to return the favor and give back to the genre that defined my yearly years. The first found footage film I had ever watched was The Blair Witch Project, and the rest is history” said Brucker, who is making his directing debut with this film.

“Mothman represents everything I love about horror. Found footage has a little place in my heart, it’s where my passion lies. It’s still what terrifies me to this day and I hope that I will terrify the hell out of every viewer.”

The Mothman legend began in Point Pleasant, West Virginia when a two young individuals were assaulted by a flying, human-like creature in the late evening of November 15, 1966. Since, thousands of individuals have reported seeing a mothman-like creature all over the globe.

“I remember watching television shows on cryptids and something about Mothman has always stood out to me,” Brucker said. “I visited Point Pleasant the summer of 2020 and it has stuck with me ever since. I can’t wait to tell my story and show the world what Mothman truly represents for myself and many others.”

Joshua Brucker launched an Indiegogo campaign in early February, amassing over 350% of the campaign’s goal over the course of it’s run, reaching over $10,000 in funding.

The found footage horror film, which is aimed to begin production in May, will be shot in Logan, Ohio and Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
