Movi Production has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the short film The Terrible Old Man, inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s story and directed by Jacopo Marchini.
The goal is to bring to life a serial project that blends visual elegance, psychological tension, and a faithful devotion to the Lovecraftian spirit.

Set in contemporary Italy, The Terrible Old Man follows three thieves who break into the home of an apparently helpless old man. But the night quickly turns into a nightmare: their curiosity and greed will lead them to confront something that does not belong to this world.
An ambitious and independent project
The short film is the first building block of LIMEN – Lovecraftian Tales, a future anthology series dedicated to Lovecraft’s stories, reimagined through a modern lens.
This first chapter will also serve as a proof of concept, showcasing the visual and narrative potential of the entire universe Movi Production is developing.
A top-tier team is behind the project:
Jacopo Marchini, director and cinematographer with experience for Sony, Warner, Universal, and projects selected in Oscar-qualifying festivals;
Armando Marchetti, composer of the original score and longtime collaborator of Marchini, crafting music that blends wonder with unease;
Anna Severini, specialist in prosthetics and special effects, responsible for creating the film’s main creature – a symbol of Lovecraft’s unfathomable unknown.
