Following the release of the official theatrical poster back in March, we are pleased to unveil the next stage of the campaign for The Shadows of Trust with the release of the film’s official character posters.
While the theatrical poster introduced audiences to the atmosphere and tone of the film, these new character posters shift the focus to the people at the centre of the story. Each image has been designed to reflect the emotional and psychological journey of the characters.
Written and directed by Aboriginal Australian filmmaker Thibul Nettle, The Shadows of Trust follows Phoebe and Alex Clarke, whose peaceful life in an isolated country home begins to unravel as disturbing events expose long buried secrets. As trust begins to erode, the arrival of a mysterious new friend threatens to uncover truths that cannot be hidden forever.
The film also stars Georgia Williams and Trung Le.
The film reunites the creative team behind the internationally successful independent feature Spithood, building on their experience to deliver a tense, contained psychological thriller that explores isolation, paranoia and the fragile nature of trust.
Rather than relying on spectacle, the film draws its suspense from strong performances, layered characters and an atmosphere of growing uncertainty.
As Australia’s only First Nations owned film distribution company, we remain committed to supporting distinctive Australian voices and helping independent films find audiences both at home and internationally. The Shadows of Trust is another example of the bold, original storytelling we are proud to champion.
