Writer/Director Tommy Faircloth (Crinoline Head, Generation Ax, The Cabin) is gearing up for his next feature film to begin shooting in March 2016 titled “Family Possessions”. Faircloth, who’s latest film “Dollface” was released in North America on DVD and VOD by Breaking Glass Pictures in September, announced that the film is fully cast and is now in the pre-production stages. The film will be produced by Horse Creek Productions and producing partner, Robert Zobel.

“Family Possessions” is a story about a girl who moves into the home of a deceased relative only to discover that she may have inherited more than just the house. “This is a paranormal/whodunit/slasher film”, explained Faircloth. “Unlike my film “Dollface” which was a bit of a satire, this film is more on the veins of my film “The Cabin”, being a more serious horror film.

“I have had this story since around 1998. I remember I mentioned in while being interviewed by Fangoria for my film “Generation Ax”. While the plot may have gone through a few revisions, the title is one that never left me and I am very excited to have the opportunity to finally put “Family Possessions” on the screen”, explains Faircloth.

Jason Vail (Valley of the Sasquatch, Gut, Dollface) will be playing the role of Steve Dunn and Morgan Monnig (The Cabin) will be playing his wife Sarah Dunn. Leah Wiseman (Dollface, Dismembering Christmas) will be playing the lead role of the daughter, Rachael Dunn, and her younger brother Andy will be played by Andrew Wicklum (Dollface). David Michael Wilson will be playing the role of Kevin.

Horror scream queen Felissa Rose, who is best known to the world as “Angela” from the classic slasher “Sleepaway Camp” will be playing the role of Susan, the struggling single mother of a teenaged daughter Maggie, played by Erika Edwards.

“Sleepaway Camp” is absolutely one of my favorite slasher films ever, “ says Faircloth, “and I have even made reference to it in my film “Dollface. After meeting Felissa at a horror convention in Atlanta, we hit it off so well that I told her we would definitely have to work together, and now we are!”

“I can’t wait to work with the talented Tommy!” explains Rose. “This script and character just drew me in and made me jump for joy! I love it and can’t wait to be on set with the cast and incredible director,” Rose finishes.

Also cast in “Family Possessions” is Michael Alig. Alig is known to the world as the original club kid who was a notorious party promoter known for the outrageous parties he would throw at the Limelight in New York. Alig was also portrayed by actor Macaulay Culkin in the 2003 film “Party Monster”.

“Michael will be playing the role of Tyson, a sort of “gay Regina George” that works in a coffee house,” explained Faircloth. He is best friends with Tristen, who will be played by Lizzie Mears (Dollface). “Michael has started a new journey in his life and acting seems to be his new outlet of creativity,” says Faircloth. “He is currently working on a new feature film with Lillo Brancato Jr. called “Vamp Bike Dos” and recently completed filming of a new pilot for a television series as well.” Faircloth finishes.

“I knew it would only be a matter of time before the rest of the world recognized my phenomenal, Brad Pitt-like acting abilities,” jokes Alig.

Lensing “Family Possessions” will be filmmaker Joe Stauffer. Stauffer is known for his award-winning film “Pieces of Talent”. Faircloth and Stauffer met at a film festival in Biloxi in 2013. “I usually DP and shoot all of my films but this will be the first time I allow someone else behind the camera,” tells Faircloth. “Joe has such an eye for cinema and I completely trust him shooting my vision. Joe will be shooting Family Possessions in 4k with a Red Epic, so I know the imagery is going to be wonderful.”

Special effects artist Tony Rosen will be handling all the practical special effects in “Family Possessions”. Rosen did all the effects for “Pieces of Talent” but is best known for creating the Annabelle doll that was used in “The Conjuring” and “Annabelle”.

“I did not want to use any CGI or digital effects in Family Possessions” explains Faircloth. “I want to use old school practical effects and kills that you see on the screen with no assistant of digital imagery. Tony has created some of the most detailed creatures and effects that I have ever seen and I know he is going to do an amazing job.” Faircloth says.

Shooting will be taking place in March and April 2016, in Greenville, North Carolina. “We are shooting in a huge mansion in Greenville that is on a register of historical houses,” explains Faircloth. “Downtown Greenville will be the setting of the fictional town of Horse Creek, which is where all my films are set”.

For those interested in helping or getting involved with the production of the film, an Indiegogo fundraiser has been launched to assist in production costs. Perks include the standard pre-ordered DVDs and signed scripts, but also actual props from the film, walk-on roles, world premiere invites, and even IMDB credited associate producer roles.
