Sources are beginning to report that actor Rex Reason passed away on Thursday, November 19th of natural causes. The announcement was delivered through his Facebook page on Friday afternoon, “It is with great sadness I announced the passing of Rex last night. He died peacefully, and I will miss him very much. – Kent Karemaker.” He was just days shy of his 87th birthday.
Rex Reason was a prolific actor throughout the 50’s, starring in dozens of war movies and westerns including Band of Angels, Man Without A Gun, Mission Over Korea, Under Fire and Smoke Signal. The German born actor was most known, though, for his roles in horror/scifi features The Island Earth (1955) and The Creature Walks Among Us (1956). These appearances inspired him to lend his opinion to numerous creature feature publications as well as documentaries including The Witch’s Dungeon: 40 Years of Chills (2006).
All of us at HorrorSociety.com send our condolences to his family, friends and fans.
