The Horror Convention Massacre 2

THCM2-COVER-front-webOld School Sinema pushes the envelope with new slasher exploitation release

Old School Sinema is back with an all-new slasher exploitation shocker, “The Horror Convention Massacre 2.” Now available at www.ossfilms.com or through their MySpace page at www.myspace.com/ossprojects, this DVD is packed with several special features, including a Director’s Commentary, two Music Videos, footage from the OSS Annual Charity Zombie Walk and a handful of OSS movie trailers. It can be purchased along with the original “The Horror Convention Massacre” and the award-winning comedy “GUYS” for a special 3-pack low price.

Picking up immediately where the original award-winning (Best Horror Film-Miami Underground Film Festival) underground cult hit left off, “The Horror Convention Massacre 2” features a maniac on the loose at a hotel hosting a horror convention. Meanwhile, hotel employee Aaron (Bryan Jalovec) is just trying to survive the insane party-going crowd at the convention.

“At first I didn’t want to do a sequel right away,” OSS chief and “THCM” creator-producer-director Joe Ostrica said. “But the first movie really took off and our fans and my cast and crew basically begged me to do a follow-up. With a convention coming up, I basically went with it and it all came together rather quickly.

“I told my crew, ‘Okay, we’ll do it, but we have to make it even more challenging.’ As if filming a movie at a hotel hosting a real convention isn’t challenging enough! I must be a glutton for punishment. But the challenge this time was to make it faster and cheaper without losing any quality and entertainment value.”

Ostrica said he loves when slasher film follow-ups pick up right where the previous film ended, so he set “THCM 2” immediately after the open-ended original’s conclusion.

“I totally love how ‘Halloween 2’ picks up where the first one ended and wanted to do that here,” Ostrica said. “Plus I think we really pushed the envelope with the gore and nudity this time around, if you could imagine that! The blood and boobs per-minute ratio on this one is huge!”

Can the long-suffering hotel employee Aaron get through the day with several murders, a porno star with a fetish for blood (Natasha Talonz), the return of Hot Carl as Jimmy’s raging coke-head twin brother Timmy, Uncle Scratch’s Gospel Revival on their death bed, a cock-blocking zombie geek, a cameo by a certain “killer nerd” and even Jesus Christ himself in the building? Packed with loads of gore and lots of girl-on-girl action and a phenomenal soundtrack, “The Horror Convention Massacre 2” is a true underground grindhouse, exploitation, slasher flick that will satisfy any B-Movie and cult cinema lover’s appetite

Theo“We really lucked out on this film,” Ostrica said. “We got a great cast and crew that had as much fun making the film as our fans do watching it. We wanted to focus on the insane party atmosphere that takes place at horror conventions. Some of the scenes may seem crazy and over the top with the party antics, but let me tell you, it sure isn’t far from what really goes on at these things!”

With Theo Kurg returning as the deranged killer, stand-up comedian Hot Carl as Timmy in a scene-stealing hilarious performance, B-Movie vixen Natasha Talonz (“Black Devil Doll”) and a cameo by the “Killer Nerd” himself, Toby Radloff, “The Horror Convention Massacre 2” has reversed the sequel stereotype and has fans raving its even better than the original.

Ostrica and his Old School Sinema crew are currently wrapping production on their third feature film in two years, “The Spook Show.”

“It’s a supernatural, rock-and-roll, slasher, revenge thriller with sex, drugs, rock and roll and a huge body count!” Ostrica says. “It’s shot in hi-def and the wide-screen format. I think we’re taking a big step forward with this film and that it will really please our fans.”

OSS is currently prepping its first zombie feature film, as well as two more projects they expect to shoot before the end of 2008. This July they will begin production on several movie trailers Ostrica describes as “female revenge thrillers in the Russ Meyer and Jack Hill vein.”

“It’s a very exciting time at Old School Sinema,” Ostrica said. “We may be an underground, low-budget outfit, but our final products don’t look it. Our movies actually engage audiences and entertain them. We’re just looking to bring excitement back into the kind of films we grew up loving, horror, B-Movies, cult films, grindhouse flicks and exploitation movies.”
