Box office numbers, DVD sales, and television viewership for the week of June 29 to July 5, 2012.
There’s really only two things to talk about at the box office this week in terms of horror/scifi. Firstly, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter takes a huge drop in sales and now I am very skeptical of whether or not it will be a flop. Secondly, Dark Shadows continues to see a boom in ticket sales for the third week in a row. I wonder what is driving sales up so suddenly?
7 3 Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter $9,072,000 (Total: $32,106,000)
9 4 Prometheus $7,237,000 (Total: $120,574,000)
11 8 The Avengers $6,876,000 (Total: $608,959,000)
12 5 Snow White & The Huntsman $6,802,000 (Total: $147,988,000)

41 32 Chernobyl Diaries $95,000 (Total: $18,066,000)
48 38 The Raven $41,000 (Total: $16,002,000)
There’s not much going on at the DVD Top 30 Chart either. True Blood is still making bank and the Men In Black movies are still holding on due to the third film’s release. Hoping for some new additions soon!

10 15 True Blood Season Four $1,384,000 (Total: $25,598,000)

24 13 Men In Black 2 $393,000 (Total: N/A)
25 23 The Woman In Black $324,000 (Total: $6,617,000)
Falling Skies is falling in viewers so make sure you give it a look. SyFy’s latest – Jack Osbourne hosted – reality show, Haunted Highway, debuts to decent viewers. On his show, he visits some of America’s notorious roadside oddities. I haven’t checked out the premiere episode yet. Have you?
