The Shriekfest Film Festival, an international horror/sci-fi film and screenplay competition, has announced its 2014 lineup and is slated to screen the Halloween-themed horror feature House of Purgatory on Saturday, October 4 at 6 p.m. It will be the second feature of the day, following a block of short films that begin at noon.
The film, written and directed by Tyler Christensen and produced by Wisconsin-based Watching Eye Productions, follows four teenagers who seek to be the first ones to make their way through a legendary haunted attraction in their town. They get a portion of their money back for each floor they “complete.” But the teens soon discover that there’s more to the attraction than they imagined—the house knows their darkest secrets and begins to exploit them, forcing the teens to face their inner fears head-on.
