“Everto” is the telling of a dark and deeply mysterious villain named Jack Straw, who appears suddenly in his hometown after having vanished for over 30 years. Unlike how any would remember the man, Jack is focused, but only to relentlessly cause trauma and fear between several young residents with no apparent connections. While a slasher film at heart, the unfolding of events prove to raise more questions than answers. Everto translates to “ruin” or “overthrow” in latin, and proves its definition true to these vulnerable youth.
