‘Left Behind’ portrays America post-Rapture

nicolas-cageRemember how we were all supposed to die last May? Ok, maybe not die, but all the Christians and Catholics were supposed to be raptured, leaving the rest of the world behind to experience the arrival of the Anti-Christ. Or something like that? Fortunately, that didn’t happen – shocking, I know – but with Left Behind we’ll get a glimpse of what that life could have been like.

Left Behind, which is based on the novel by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye, will be directed by Vic Armstrong under Stoney Lake Entertainment and Family Screen Partners. The only cast members rumored to appear at this point include Nicholas Cage (Ghost Rider, The Wicker Man) and Chad Michael Murray (House of Wax, The Haunting In Connecticut 2).

Left Behind is a remake of the 2001 flick of the same name by Paul Lalonde. This remake will follow, “A group of people who struggle to survive in the aftermath of a “Rapture” that has removed people of the Christian faith from Earth.” Filming is expected to begin in the Spring with a release date aimed for 2014. Hopefully, we’ll get more updates soon. More casting would be appreciated.

  1. First of all, don’t lump Catholics into the same category as Dispensationalists. The rapture myth is not Catholic.

If Nick Cage is signed on it’s a guarantee the flick will go strait to Red Box.
