Monsterman's 31 Days of Halloween Horror Picks

Jeepers Creepers (2001)

On tap for tonight’s recommendation is, (in my opinion) one of the best horror films of the new millennium, Jeepers Creepers. I realize that’s saying a lot with all the great films that have been released since 2000. I also realize there’s a bit of controversy that surrounds the director of this film, which I will not get into here. I feel this film hit a near perfect mix of story, frights, creature design, and gore to make this a movie that will almost certainly become a classic over the years.

You can’t help but relate and feel for the characters in the movie, which makes what happens to them all the more frightening. The acting is impeccable from the two leads Justin Long and Gina Philips. It is full of serious frights that will haunt you long after you watch the film. The Creeper is such a creatively designed monster that he has already joined the ranks of the most popular monsters in the annals of monsterdom.

If you haven’t had the chance to check Jeepers Creepers out yet, I highly recommend you do so. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

The film is both written and directed by Victor Salva (Clownhouse, Powder, Dark House). It stars Gina Philips, Justin Long, Jonathan Breck, Patricia Belcher, Brandon Smith and Eileen Brennan.

Plot Synopsis
