I’m aware that news on this title broke about two months ago, but seeing how it just came across my path I figured I would share it anyway. Especially since it expresses the desire to be “not that type of cabin in the woods movie.”
The Ryan Brothers, Tim and Trevor, are currently in post-production of the feature length adaption to their SXSW short film, Welcome to Willits. Welcome to Willits is described as, “Deep in the Northern California woods, in the heart of the notorious Emerald Triangle, lies a remote cabin. The residents struggle to fight off the repeated attacks and abductions by mysterious creatures that have plagued them for years. When a local pot farmer is caught up with a wayward group of campers the situation quickly escalates into total carnage.”
Tim Ryan wrote the screenplay and Trevor Ryan took the reigns as director.
Cast members starring in this movie include Dolph Lundgen (The Expendables, Rocky IV), Anastasia Baranova (“Veronica Mars,” “Z Nation”), Thomas Dekker (A Nightmare on Elm Street, “The Secret Circle”), Rory Culkin (Scream 4, Signs), Garrett Clayton (“The Fosters,” Teen Beach II), Chris Zylka (“The Leftovers,” Shark Night 3D), Sabina Gadecki (“Finding Carter,” Entourage), Bill Sage (American Psycho, Precious) and Karrueche Tran (3 Headed Shark Attack, “The Bay”)
Look for Welcome to Willits in late 2016!
