Five 90s Horror films for your next movie night

Horror is a genre where movies are produced either very well, or very badly. The 90s is filled with some great horror movies. Today we list and review some of the 90s most well-loved horror films. Pick one you have not seen, put the popcorn in a bow, sit back and prepare to be scared!

The Sixth Sense (1999)
With M. Night Shyamalan being the writer and the director of this movie, you can expect it to be a good one. And with a cast featuring Bruce Willis and Toni Collette, the acting is pretty damn good too! The story is about a young boy who sees dead people, and his psychiatrist. And well, we won’t give the rest away. But it’s a must see, we can tell you that!

Scream (1996)
Scream is cult favorite, and with good reason! This is such a clever movie. When a high school student decides to become a serial killer named Ghostface (we all know the iconic mask from the movie!), no one is safe. While still scary, this movie is also incredibly funny. Scream embraces the clichés of the genre and uses them comically. You’re going to be a bit scared, but you are also going to laugh a lot. The movie also features some great actors like Courtney Cox, Drew Barrymore, and Rose McGowan. And the good news is, that if you like Scream, there are four more movies after it in the series!

The Blair Witch Project (1999)
The Blair Witch Project is one of the 90s best loved horror movies. The movie tells the story of three young men who go to a small town to gather footage and information about an infamous murder that took place there. They interview local residents, but things take a turn for the worse when they get lost in the woods and begin to hear scary noises.

The Silence of the Lambs (1991)
This has got to be my personal favorite horror film of all time, not just from the 90s! The story follows a young FBI trainee who interviews the infamous and incarcerated Hannibal Lecter, a psychiatrist who killed and then ate his victims. Hannibal is asked to help the FBI catch another serial killer who skins his victims. This psychological thriller keeps you on the edge of your seat in suspense. The acting is, of course, amazing. But you would not expect less from Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins.

Funny Games (1997)
Funny games is about a family who are randomly terrorized by two men while they vacation at a lake house. The two men, Paul and Peter, take the family hostage where they abuse and humiliate them to no end. The hostage takers break the fourth wall, and at times will talk to the audience. This adds to the horror of the film, as you slowly begin to feel eerily complicit in their horrific actions.

If you’re a horror film buff and have seen all of the above films, or if none of these movies appeal to you, why not try some casino games to keep yourself entertained. Live dealer casinos can be a lot of fun, and a great way to win some extra cash too. With a live dealer casino you really get that authentic casino experience. You also can be rest assured that the cards are being dealt fairly as you can see the dealer doing it!
