Staples on the horror movie and fan convention scenes, Jim O’Rear and Scott Tepperman, combine their writing, producing, and directing talents together for the first time to present Nightblade, a star-studded 1980’s-style thriller from their new company Los Bastardz Productions.
Jim O’Rear, known to some as “The King Of The B’s,” has worked in the Hollywood entertainment industry for over thirty years as an actor, stuntman, screenwriter, director, make-up artist, and producer on award-winning indie classics such as Don’t Look In The Basement 2, The Hospital 1 and 2, The Dead Matter, and Camp Massacre. Teaming up with his frequent film co-star Scott Tepperman, of Ghost Hunters International fame, the dynamic duo bring us a new movie that captures the feel, style, and fun of the 1980s police dramas and television shows, such as Miami Vice and Magnum P.I. mixed with a slasher horror element reminiscent of Jack The Ripper. The movie, Nightblade, stars Todd Bridges (“Willis” from Diff’rent Strokes), Robert LaSardo (CSI: Miami, Nip/Tuck, Death Race), and Betsy Rue (How I Met Your Mother, My Bloody Valentine, True Blood), as well as O’Rear and Tepperman, themselves.
Normally known for their work in horror and science fiction films, their new company, Los Bastardz Productions, has decided to branch out and offer their fans a different experience with Nightblade. “We’re still giving the fans that horror element that they expect,” states O’Rear, “because, at its core, Nightblade’s story focuses on tracking a serial killer, but we’re hoping to expand beyond blood and guts and let the story elements and performances drive this one.”
Nightblade’s theatrical premiere is open to the public and will be held at the Full Moon Cineplex (3445 Lebanon Pike, Hermitage, TN – just outside of Nashville) on January 28th at 7:00pm, allowing the audience to watch the film for the first time with members of the cast and crew who will be in attendance. Tickets for the event are only $5.00 and are available at the theater (www.FullMoonCineplex.com). A Q&A with the cast and crew will be held after the screening for anyone interested in behind the scenes stories or wanting filmmaking advice.
For those who can’t make the premiere, a DVD and Blu-Ray release is set for early 2017.
