Highlands Horror Film Festival Now Accepting Submissions

Returning in full force from a covid world, the most important and frightening film festival down the Jersey shore has several surprises, incredible genre films, and an experience that welcomes all fans of cinema. Now in its third year, the Highlands Horror Film Festhas received a record number of submissions already with something for everyone. Never resting on our laurels, we are still actively searching for the very best selections to wow our audiences this October 8th and 9th!

Working towards expanding our in-person screenings for 2021, we have been working to adapt last year’s hybrid model to create a complete festival experience that the Highlands Horror Film Festival has become known for! Continuing the quality genre filmmaking in 2021, our 2020 Drive-In programming featured a mix of slasher films, comedic horror, and good old-fashioned suspense. Audience favorites included clown based, horror sensation HOMECOMING MASSACRE directed by Kenny White and STAR LIGHT starring horror icon Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN 1 and 2)!

We are currently accepting submissions on the Highlands Horror Film Fest – FilmFreeway until August 15, 2021! We look forward to watching your shorts, features, documentaries, and student films. If you need any further information, have a question, suggestion, and/or wish to do an interview about the festival, please contact Festival Director Rob Kneller at NJFilmFest@gmail.com. Thank you for supporting the Highlands Horror Film Fest.
