JOEL KINNAMAN AND CARA JADE MYERS STAR IN STEFAN RUZOWITZKY’S THRILLER “ICE FALL”

Joel Kinnaman (James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, John Woo’s Silent Night) and Cara Jade Myers (Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon) are set to star in the thriller Ice Fall, it was announced today. The film is directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Stefan Ruzowitzky (The Counterfeiters, Deadfall, Netflix’s “Barbarians”) and written by George Mahaffey (upcoming film Chief of Station starring Olga Kurylenko and Aaron Eckhart).

Ice Fall is produced by Arclight Films, Top Film, Addam Bramich, Ryan Hamilton and Rob Van Norden. Top Film is also financing the film. Arclight Films is handling worldwide rights and will commence sales at the European Film Market. Production is set to start in March in Europe.

Ice Fall centers on a young Indigenous game warden who arrests an infamous poacher only to discover that the poacher knows the location of a plane carrying millions of dollars that has crashed in a frozen lake. When a group of criminals and dirty cops are alerted to the poacher’s whereabouts, the warden and the poacher team up to fight back and escape across the treacherous lake before the ice melts.

Joel Kinnaman recently starred in John Woo’s action-thriller Silent Night and currently stars as the lead in Apple TV+’s epic sci-fi series, “For All Mankind.” The Critics’ Choice-nominated drama was named USA Today and Rolling Stone’s Top Show of the Year of 2021. Additional credits include Sympathy for the Devil opposite Nicholas Cage, James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, AMC’s “The Killing,” Netflix’s “House of Cards” and “Altered Carbon.” Next up, he will star in the Boston crime thriller The Silent Hour opposite Mark Strong.

In addition to Killers of the Flower Moon, Cara Jade Myers has been seen on NBC’s award-winning series “This Is Us” and “Rutherford Falls.” An enrolled member of the Wichita and Kiowa tribes, she also is currently working on a documentary and as a writer, has several scripts in development.

Academy Award-winner Stefan Ruzowitzky wrote and directed The Counterfeiters, winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2008. Additional credits include The Inheritors, Deadfall starring Eric Bana and Olivia Wilde, Patient Zero starring Natalie Dormer, Stanley Tucci and Matt Smith, and the Netflix series “Barbarians.”

Arclight Films’ current slate of films includes Paul Schrader’s Oh, Canada starring Richard Gere, Uma Thurman, Michael Imperioli and Jacob Elordi; Renny Harlin’s epic survival thriller Deep Water; Assassination starring Viggo Mortensen, Al Pacino and Shia LaBeouf, written by David Mamet and directed by Barry Levinson and the comedy Arthur’s Whisky starring Academy Award-winner Diane Keaton, Patricia Hodge and the legendary Scottish singer/actress Lulu.
