A Haunting New Psychological Horror from Aboriginal Australian Filmmaker Thibul Nettle
Wirra Distribution, Australia’s only Indigenous owned film distribution company is proud to release of the theatrical poster for The Shadows of Trust, the upcoming psychological thriller written and directed by Thibul Nettle.
The newly unveiled poster offers a glimpse into a world defined by paranoia, fractured relationships, and the fragile nature of truth. With an ominous tone, the artwork sets the stage for a story that explores what happens when trust erodes and secrets begin to surface.
The Shadows of Trust comes from the team behind the super-micro budget horror feature Spithood, which achieved international success following its release on Amazon Prime, debuting in the Top 10 in the Netherlands and Sweden, and reaching the Top 3 in Finland.
Building on that momentum, the creative team returns with a more grounded yet equally unsettling psychological experience.
The Shadows of Trust, follows Phoebe & Alex Clarke’s (Sarah Jeavons & Thibul Nettle) idyllic life at a secluded country home as it unravels when disturbing events uncover buried secrets-and a mysterious neighbor (Georgia Williams) threaten to expose everything.
The contained film is a tense, character-driven narrative that blurs the line between perception and reality to deliver an emotionally charged and psychologically gripping experience, appealing to fans of elevated thriller storytelling.
“Releasing the official poster is an exciting milestone for us,” said Travis Akbar, Founder of Wirra Distribution. “This film represents a bold and distinctive voice in Australian cinema, and the poster captures the essence of its tone. Intimate and unsettling.”
As an Aboriginal-owned distribution company, Wirra Distribution continues its commitment to championing diverse voices and powerful storytelling across the Australian screen landscape. Shadows of Trust reflects that mission, bringing forward a unique creative vision that resonates with contemporary audiences.
Further announcements regarding release dates, trailers, and festival screenings will be made in the coming months.
