Samuel L. Fronsman, the writer and director behind In the Hands of Fate (2025), is returning for his second feature-length directorial effort in Crimson Night. Fronsman’s new movie follows two homicide detectives as they investigate a string of vampire-themed murders.
In developing the screenplay, Fronsman committed to authenticity in the police-work within the narrative. As such, he worked alongside retired Shelby, OH detective Adam Joseph Turner and retired Cleveland, OH detective James Bellanca to bring a sense of realism to the script. To further the authenticity, Fronsman also cast both Turner and Bellanca to play the leading roles in the film.
The Story of Crimson Night
Set in the fictional city of Sangrove, Ohio, Crimson Night unravels a suspenseful, yet realistic, tale of police work. The story follows Detectives Joseph Adams and James Butera. Though Adams and Butera both have their commitments to upholding the law, they each have their own problems at home that weigh them down.
After a string of vampire-themed homicides begin to develop across the city, these seasoned investigators must put their own issues at home aside to catch this new serial killer. However, as bodies begin to pile up, the detectives are left with more questions than answers. Can Detectives Adams and Butera uncover the dark secret lurking in the shadows of Sangrove? Or will their own demons eat them alive in their quest to stop the killer?
Writer/Director Samuel L. Fronsman is currently raising funds for Crimson Night. He hopes to begin production in 2026.
