Horror movie The Fly becomes opera

Film director David Cronenberg took to the stage in LA alongside opera heavyweight Placido Domingo to launch the opera version of his 1986 cult hit, The Fly.

Over two decades on, the film has undergone a regenesis of its own and is set to be performed at the city’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in September.

1.8 Days Now in Production

CAYCE, S.C. (AP) — A horror film written and directed by Columbia native Chuck Fallaw will be the first movie to shoot at a new production facility in Cayce.

According to Movie Tao Productions’ Web site, “1.8 Days” is the story of five people who want each other dead, but who have to band together to take on a common enemy.

[REC] Banned in NZ

A promotion for the horror film [REC] has been derailed by the Chief Investigator for the New Zealand Food Safety Authority.

The promotion centred around the ‘Extreme Bloody Mary’, a beverage which contained drops of real human blood.

Organisers were requested to cease with the promotion under Section 9 of the Food Act 1981 as it is prohibited to serve ‘food’ that is unsound, unfit or offensive for human consumption.
