Here is a rundown of the films that will be playing starting June 3rd for the Infectious Films series on FEARnet.com….
Resident Evil: Apocalypse
This is a sequel to the 2002 movie where the dead become the living undead in a search for fresh meat. The Umbrella Corp opens their underground research lab ‘the hive,’ and they unfortunately let the virus escape into Raccoon City. The plague moves rapidly, and soon everyone is infected. Alice (Milla Jovovich) awakens in the Umbrella Corp’s lab connected to tubes. They have been experimenting with the virus, and it has mutated inside Alice’s body giving her extraordinary powers. Alice leaves the lab and begins to kill the undead as she goes through the city. Alice rescues a group of survivors who are holed-up inside a church. They must leave the church and get out of the city, but the Umbrella Corp has sealed it. Dr. Charles Ashford (Jared Harris), an Umbrella Corporation scientist, will help Alice and the others escape the city if they find his daughter Angie (Sophie Vavaseur). The Umbrella Corporation sends in their secret weapon code-name Nemesis to see how good he is as a weapon. Nemesis wipes out the Special Tactics and Rescue Services (S.T.A.R.S.) team. Nemesis’s next target is Alice.
Night of the Creeps
n 1959, an alien experiment crashes to earth and infects a fraternity member. They freeze the body, but in the modern day, two geeks pledging a fraternity accidentally thaw the corpse, which proceeds to infect the campus with parasites that transform their hosts into killer zombies
Infection – aka – Kansen
In a general hospital near bankruptcy, the reduced staff is working under a severe stress. During the emergency attendance to a burned patient with Dr. Uozumi (Masanobu Takashima) and two other nurses, Dr. Akiba (Kôichi Satô) and the nurse commit an error, injecting sodium chlorate and killing him. Dr. Uozumi convinces the team to forge the report to save their careers. Meanwhile, an ambulance leaves a patient in the emergency with a lethal infection. When the muscles and internal organs of the patient liquefy, Dr. Kiyoshi Akai (Shirô Sano) convinces his two colleagues to examine and research the virus, leading the employees of the night shift to a tragic end.
CHUD II
A couple of teenagers break into a secret government science lab and steal a frozen corpse for a high school prank and accidently awaken the corpes which turns out to be a CHUD, ironically named Bud, who goes on a killing spree and making his victims also canabalistic CHUD’s and its up to the teens to stop him.
Days of Darkness
In a twist on the standard zombie movie of the “Night of the Living Dead” series, the zombies here are infected with alien organisms from the thawing comet, not by being bitten. Holed up in an abandoned military blockhouse, the survivors are a mixed bag; a young unmarried couple, a former porn star and her sheltered teenage daughter, a born again fundamentalist preacher, a gay man, an alpha male movie producer/rancher, a couple of soldiers, one male and one female, a high-roller, and the preacher’s infected brother, chained up in the basement. Internal strife hampers the group’s events to come up with a plan to defeat the zombies pressing in on the chain-link fence surrounding the site; one by one they begin to fall victim, both to the zombies and to each other
Dance of the Dead
It is prom night in middle America. Tuxes have been rented and dresses have been bought. But when the dead unexpectedly rise from their graves to eat the living, it’s up to the geeks, the nerds, the outcast and the losers who couldn’t get dates to the dance to save the town from the undead. Unlikely heroes will rise to the challenge as they are forced to put aside their differences and band together to fight for their lives. Armed with bats, sledgehammers, garden tools and guitars, this rag-tag group of high-school teens are in for a prom night they will never forget.
