Percept Horrorotainment’s 8

MUMBAI: Percept Horrorotainment, in association with Glorius Entertainment, has announced their first horror film 8 under the banner of Percept Picture Company (PPC), a dedicated organised division to cater to horror films in the country.

"Horror, as a genre is about large concepts and with such kind of treatment, PPC, in the past, has offered some brilliant entertainment and raised the bar of quality with every release like Hunuman, Traffic Signal, we are thrilled with our alliance with an intellectual director like Wilson Louis and Glorious Entertainment," said Percept Picture Company CEO Navin Shah.

"Today it is the youth who rules the box-office and horror films are extremely to their liking. Our research department has found out that besides reading horror stories, the youth is attracted to the horror-genre may it be through TV serials or films, " rues Shah.

8 is Percept Horrorotainment’s first film that would be directed by the country’s best special effects director Wilson Louis. The other seven films would be made and released in a span of three years. "In fact we are already working on Grrr a film directed by Priyadarsan that involves the Tiger. "It is akin to numerous creature films like Annaconda, Lake Placid,Deep Rising etc.,"avers Shah.

All the horror films to be made under the Percept Horrorotainment banner will be in a budget ranging between Rs 8 to 10 crores ‘though the creature features may well cost us between Rs 25 to 30 crores," discloses Shah.

Why the name 8? "You see when you write the figure 8 you start at a point and taking a curve end up at the same point. That is life. The story of our film is similar. In fact before arriving at the title we did a market survey and all the respondents okayed the title."

Said director Wilson Louis who earlier made 6×4, Ho Sakta Hai, Lonavala Khandala Ghat,Kaalo and Shout. "This film gives me a chance to deliver my best with my story-telling abilities and special effects expertise. In the next five years time, I want to float a horror film company of my own when people would relate to me as Wilson Horror Louis."
