Frankenstein, Lost World, Harry Potter Actor Robert Hardy Has Passed Away.

BBC News and PEOPLE are reporting that English actor Robert Hardy has passed away at age 91. His family has officially confirmed the news, which occurred on Thursday, August 3rd 2017. Though a cause of death has yet to be confirmed, some sources assume his passing was natural and attributed to old age. Hardy leaves behind a tremendous, six-decade long career in the entertainment industry. He is most known for playing Siegfried Farnon in 90 episodes of “All Creatures Great and Small,” which ran from 1978 to 1990. His noticeable film credits include Sense and Sensibility, Winston Churchill: The Wilderness Years and Winston Churchill: 100 Days That Saved Britain.

Being that this is a horror and science fiction website, I should highlight that Robert Hardy had a number of genre roles in his 140 credit resume. He can be found as lead and supporting characters in Berserk (1967), Demons of the Mind (1972), Dark Places (1973), The Death Wheelers (1973), Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein (1994), The Lost World (2001) and The Gathering (2002). He is perhaps recognized the most for portraying Cornelius Fudge in Harry Potter series’ Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002), Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007).

All of us here at HorrorSociety.com send our condolences to his family, friends and fans. May the magic his career brought to our lives continue into the next one.
