MASKHEAD

This film is a co-direction collaboration between Fred Vogel (creator of the August Underground series, The Redsin Tower, and Murder Collection v.1) and Masters of Horror writer Scott Swan (co-author of
John Carpenter’s Cigarette Burns and Pro-Life). The film premieres at the BUT Film Festival in Holland on September 12th, and makes it’s Amarican premiere at Cinema Wasteland on October 4th.

Synopsis:
“He will make you a star.”

Fred Vogel, the infamous creator of the August Underground Trilogy, and Masters of Horror writer Scott Swan, the co-author of John Carpenter’s Cigarette Burns and Pro-Life, team up to bring you an uncompromising new vision of underground horror… MASKHEAD.

MASKHEAD tells the depraved tale of Syl and Maddie, lesbian filmmakers who produce fetish videos with a deadly twist. Each sickening video concludes with somebody getting tortured and killed snuff movie style by a hulking, bandaged brute in a bizarre mask that covers his deformed face. This is “Maskhead,” Syl and Maddie’s star. With the help of their sociopath associate, The Cowboy, the demented crew begins work on their next series of Maskhead videos. Business is good and the bodies pile up quickly.

“Everyone has a fetish. What’s yours? What turns you on?”

  1. This movie is unlike anything I've ever seen. It mixes sex, comedy, and realistic violence in such a manner, you are not sure if you should be laughing, screaming, or getting an erection. It is a fun, fast paced movie with stimulating dialogue and a very strange atmosphere.

  2. The movie is officially out and people are loving it so far. Toetag has it available at their website.

Here are some anonymous fan reviews:

"I found this movie to be truly scary and disturbing and difficult to watch. I have never seen another movie that mixed humor with genuine horror and I wasn't sure how to take it. It bothered me a little when my friend said "that's an all around good time." People talk about how some of the scenes from the August Underground movies get stuck in their head. Maskhead did that for me. Saying that though, I really did love the movie. It's unlike anything I've ever seen. I would put it up there with Penance and Redsin as my favorite ToeTag movies."

"I loved it. Totally twisted and hilarious.

So many great scenes and the spfx were top notch.

The film was very well casted and I think the music/sound of the film is great too.

I've also had the opening line of the film stuck in my head for days, haha."

"MASKHEAD is definitely one of Toe Tag's best! For me, it ranks second behind THE REDSIN TOWER with PENANCE third. Very stylish with some intense and nasty moments. The gore was excellent with Jerami doing a splendid job as always. I really liked the ending.

Overall, a very sick ass, stylish effort from Toe Tag that I'm happy to say I helped out on.

Will do an more in-depth review for FearZone hopefully this weekend. I'll let you all know when it's posted."

  3. This film is AMAZING. I caught it in Holland and it blew my fucking mind. A great script really keeps the narrative moving. You won't BELIEVE where this film goes… Utter darkness… It crippled me.
